| Personal History | The Molaur symbiont was born in 1934 in the subterranean symbiotic pools of Trill. Even among symbionts, Molaur developed a reputation for being unusually selective and emotionally perceptive. While most symbionts accepted hosts relatively early in their lives, Molaur repeatedly rejected candidates presented by the Symbiosis Commission. Guardians described Molaur as patient, observant, and drawn toward individuals with emotional depth rather than ambition or prestige. Over the decades, many Initiates attempted compatibility with the symbiont, including scholars, physicians, diplomats, and Starfleet officers, but none were accepted. By the middle of the 21st century, some within the Commission quietly feared Molaur might never join at all. In 2059, when Molaur was already 125 years old, the symbiont was finally introduced to a young Trill Initiate named Jomod. At the time, Jomod was twenty-five years old, the ideal age for joining among most Trill candidates. Unlike several other candidates competing for the joining that year, Jomod was not considered especially prestigious. He was an aspiring actor, writer, and director who had already earned modest recognition in Trill theater circles for his emotional performances and experimental storytelling. During the evaluation process, however, Jomod demonstrated an uncommon humility and understanding of symbiosis. Rather than seeing joining as a path toward status, he viewed it as a responsibility and partnership. According to later accounts from the Symbiosis Commission, Molaur reacted immediately and strongly to Jomod during the final compatibility sessions. Witnesses described an unusual calmness in the joining pools when Jomod entered, something later romanticized by Trill historians and initiates alike. The Commission ultimately concluded that Molaur had not been searching for the most accomplished host, but rather someone capable of carrying centuries of memory with compassion and balance. In 2059, Molaur accepted Jomod, making him the symbiont’s first host after more than a century of waiting. The joining transformed Jomod profoundly. Before becoming joined, he had been introspective, artistic, and somewhat emotionally reserved. Afterward, he became more charismatic, socially confident, and philosophically expansive. Friends and colleagues often remarked that he carried himself like someone much older, as though Molaur’s age and perspective subtly echoed through him. Yet despite the immense influence of the symbiont, Jomod retained a strong sense of self throughout his life, something later cited as one of the reasons the joining proved so stable and successful. Molaur-Jomod quickly rose to prominence within Trill and Federation artistic culture. As an actor, he became celebrated for emotionally layered performances that critics claimed felt “older than memory itself.” His performances in holo-dramas such as The Last Lantern of Bolarus, Glass Oceans, and When the Ninth Star Fell became legendary. Audiences were particularly drawn to the depth and realism he brought to characters struggling with grief, identity, and the passage of time. As a writer, Jomod explored themes heavily influenced by the joining experience. His stories often focused on memory, generational legacy, emotional inheritance, and the tension between individuality and continuity. His most influential work, Seven Lives Before Dawn, examined whether the memories of previous hosts could eventually overwhelm a joined Trill’s original identity. Though controversial among more conservative elements of Trill society, the work became one of the defining artistic achievements of the era. By the early 2100s, Molaur-Jomod increasingly turned toward directing. He pioneered immersive holo-theater techniques that allowed audiences to partially experience the emotional states of performers. These innovations transformed Federation artistic culture and established him as one of the most influential directors of his century. Many later artists credited him with redefining holographic storytelling entirely. Jomod’s personal life was equally rich and complicated. In 2063, he married Tarell Ven, a gifted Trill sculptor and production designer he had met while working in theater. Their marriage was passionate but often strained by Jomod’s growing fame and increasingly introspective nature after joining. Together they had two children: Ralen Jomod, born in 2067, who later became a renowned architect specializing in oceanic Trill habitats, and Meira Jomod, born in 2071, who followed her father into writing and cultural history. Although Jomod and Tarell eventually separated in 2097, they remained close companions and artistic collaborators for the rest of their lives. Decades later, in 2118, Molaur-Jomod married Commander Shenya zh’Rath, an Andorian Starfleet officer and diplomat whom he met during a Federation cultural summit. Where Jomod was philosophical and emotionally fluid, Shenya was disciplined, practical, and direct. Their differences balanced one another remarkably well, and their relationship became widely admired within Federation social circles. Together they adopted a human orphan named Lira following a colony evacuation crisis. Lira later became a respected Federation ambassador and often spoke publicly about growing up with a joined Trill parent, once remarking that living with Molaur-Jomod “felt like living beside history itself.” After Shenya’s death in 2171, Molaur-Jomod gradually withdrew from public life. He settled near the Mak’ala cliffs on Trill, where he spent his remaining decades mentoring young initiates, advising the Symbiosis Commission, preserving cultural archives, and recording personal reflections for future hosts. As he aged, friends observed that the distinction between Jomod and Molaur sometimes seemed to blur, with his speech carrying an almost ancient cadence. Nevertheless, he remained deeply committed to preserving his individuality and often reminded initiates that joining was “not surrender, but conversation.” Jomod lived an extraordinary 140 years as Molaur’s first host. By the time of his death in 2199, the symbiont itself had reached 265 years of age. Jomod died peacefully surrounded by family, descendants, former students, and representatives of the Symbiosis Commission. His final recorded words to Molaur were said to be, “You waited long enough for me. Now go find someone unexpected again.” Shortly afterward, the symbiont was transferred successfully to its next host, carrying forward not only centuries of memory, but also the artistic brilliance, emotional wisdom, and enduring humanity of Molaur-Jomod. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------ Second Host: Male- Aadru Antique Dealer/Historian/Curator. Lived until 120. Aadru was born in 2175 on Trill, only twenty-four years before the death of Molaur’s first host, Jomod. From an early age, Aadru displayed an intense fascination with history and material culture. While other children were drawn toward science or exploration, Aadru spent countless hours studying ancient artifacts, restoration techniques, and historical records. His family operated a modest antique shop near the outskirts of Leran Manev, where he learned to identify objects not simply by appearance, but by the stories attached to them. He often claimed that artifacts carried “emotional fingerprints” from the people who once owned them. Unlike Jomod, who had been artistic and emotionally expressive, Aadru possessed a quieter and more analytical temperament. He was patient, methodical, and deeply attentive to detail. By adulthood, he had become known within Trill academic circles as a gifted historian with an almost uncanny ability to reconstruct historical narratives from incomplete evidence. He eventually worked as both an antique dealer and curator, specializing in pre-Federation Trill relics and early interstellar cultural exchanges. When Molaur was transferred in 2199 following Jomod’s death, the Symbiosis Commission began evaluating potential new hosts. Many expected the symbiont to select another highly creative or publicly influential individual, especially after the legendary Molaur-Jomod pairing. Instead, Molaur once again surprised the Commission by choosing Aadru, who at the time was only twenty-four years old and relatively unknown outside historical circles. Some Commission officials initially questioned the decision. Aadru lacked Jomod’s charisma and artistic fame, but Molaur appeared drawn to his steady emotional balance and profound respect for history and memory. Where Jomod had explored memory through art and emotion, Aadru approached it through preservation and scholarship. The joining was completed successfully in 2199, and many later historians described the transition between Jomod and Aadru as unusually smooth, as though Molaur had intentionally chosen a host capable of safeguarding the emotional legacy left behind by the first life. The joining deepened Aadru’s connection to history almost immediately. After becoming joined, he developed a reputation as one of the Federation’s foremost experts on cultural preservation. He traveled extensively across Federation space recovering endangered artifacts, authenticating historical pieces, and negotiating the return of stolen cultural treasures to their worlds of origin. Over time, he became curator of the prestigious Vash-Tor Historical Museum on Trill, a massive institution dedicated to preserving Trill and Federation history. Molaur-Aadru was respected for his calm demeanor and encyclopedic knowledge. While not as publicly celebrated as Jomod, he became highly influential among scholars, archivists, and historians throughout the Federation. Students often remarked that speaking with him felt like conversing with “living history.” His lectures frequently emphasized that history was not merely a collection of facts, but an emotional continuity connecting generations across centuries. Though devoted to his work, Aadru also built a rich personal life. He married a Bajoran archaeologist named Lenara Vos in 2208 after collaborating on the recovery of ancient relics near a disputed Cardassian border site. Their relationship was grounded in intellectual partnership and mutual curiosity about lost civilizations. Together they had one son, Teren Aadru, born in 2212, who later became a Federation archivist specializing in holographic memory preservation. Unlike Jomod’s highly public artistic career, Aadru preferred quieter domesticity. He and Lenara maintained a restored estate outside the capital where they housed private collections of recovered artifacts and historical manuscripts. Visitors often described the home as resembling a living museum, filled with objects from dozens of worlds, each meticulously cataloged and preserved. Over the course of his 120-year life, Aadru became increasingly protective of cultural heritage as black-market artifact trafficking expanded throughout Federation space. In his later years, he worked closely with planetary governments and Starfleet security to combat the illegal trade of historical relics. His efforts earned him both admiration and dangerous enemies among criminal collectors and smugglers. In 2295, when Aadru was 120 years old and Molaur had reached 361 years of age, tragedy struck during what was supposed to be a routine evening at the Vash-Tor Historical Museum. A group of armed thieves attempted to steal several priceless pre-Federation Trill artifacts from a secured archive wing. The robbery quickly spiraled out of control when security systems activated earlier than expected. Aadru, who happened to be overseeing a late-night cataloging project, intervened personally in an attempt to prevent damage to the artifacts and protect several junior staff members trapped nearby. During the confrontation, Aadru was severely injured when one of the robbers triggered an unstable plasma cutting device inside the archive chamber. The resulting explosion caused catastrophic internal injuries and extensive neural trauma. Though emergency medical teams managed to stabilize the Molaur symbiont itself, Aadru’s body suffered irreversible damage. For several days, doctors and Symbiosis Commission officials fought to save him long enough to prepare a safe transfer. Despite immense pain, Aadru reportedly remained conscious long enough to assist in preserving critical museum records and ensuring the stolen artifacts were recovered. Witnesses later recalled that his primary concern was not his own survival, but the protection of history itself. Before the transfer procedure, Aadru is said to have spoken privately to Molaur: “Memory survives because someone chooses to protect it.” Shortly afterward, in 2295, Molaur was transferred successfully to its third host, carrying with it not only Jomod’s artistic soul and Aadru’s devotion to preservation, but nearly four centuries of living memory. ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- 2319 year of transfer to Keema. Keema was born 2296 she was age 23 when Molaur was transferred to her. Third Host: Female-Keema-Seamstress/Weaver Died age 93 Transferred to Siadra Age 24 2389 ============================== Siadra's history before the Joining Siadra was born on Trill where as a child she enjoyed the time on the beautiful, and yet sometimes a rather dangerous world. Besides the beautiful forests and canyons, there was the oceans of Trill that had a purple hue which could be seen from space. Then there were the Hoobishan Baths as well as the Tenaran Ice Cliffs of which she enjoyed visiting. Her days were filled with being with her siblings as well as her parents exploring the Trill world, going to school and just living. Siadra's mother, Lozra is a professor at the Trill Science Ministry. Her Father,Yaruss Kasim is a musician as well as music teacher at the Tenaran Music Academy. Siadra picked up a love for music due to her father. Her older brother Jalem is going to school there, while her younger sister Leema is at the Kem'alta Institute. Time moved on, and Siadra turned 18, she wanted to join StarFleet and her parents were supportive of her doing so. She took the test, passed the exam, and was accepted. Siadra made friends there at the academy one of which was Jonathan Corwin.During her time at the academy, Siadra had gone to a clothing store, run by a Trill woman who was rather skilled in making clothing, tapestries, and wove blankets. The Trill woman she met was none other than Keema, the host of Molaur. A friendship developed between the two. When Siadra graduated from the academy, Keema had presented her with a lovely dress the coloration of the purple tinted ocean of Trill. Siadra fell in love with the dress wearing it for special occasions. After graduating Siadra's first assignment was at Space Dock One. Which she enjoyed, it wasn't too far from Earth where she could visit when she had the time. Serving there for a year Siadra when she turned 24 was summoned by the Trill Council. The symbiote Molaur was needing to be transfered to another host, as Keema was dying. Keema was placed in stasis until Molaur could be transferred. Siadra had been tested to see if she was an applicable candidate to be a host of which she was.The ritual, Zhian'tara was performed once they were on Trill, and Siadra became the new host for Molaur. Her world changed after that, Siadra was assigned to DS9, then after serving on that station, she was transferred to the USS Artemis. Siadra is now 32. She has had the Molaur symbiont for 8 years now. Siadra DOB 2365. |
