Mission: Episode 2 - The Sins of History
Location: Prison Complex - Deck 13 - USS Artemis
Timeline: MD012 0930 hrs

More new people upon the Artemis, such an influx of new blood coming together came the voice of Aadru, the historian. You have a warden that has come to the ship now. Care to go see what he is like?

Siadra was in the middle of reading over an old journal of hers written during her studies at the academy, and taking notes from it.

Siadra are you ignoring me? Aadru being rather insistent.

Laying her pencil down upon her desk, Siadra gave a yawn and stretched. "I am not ignoring you, I just needed to jot down some items I came across. A warden you say? Intriguing. I will need to go meet this person." Siadra rising up from her seat, still dressed in her uniform, and left her quarters Deck 13 was her destination, this warden, would he be in his office? Siadra not bothering to pick up her padd and search for the information as to what the person looked like.

The door to the prison area swooshed open, and Siadra stepped inside. It had been awhile since she had been here, having had tea with Cassandra in one of the interrogation room.

Kiyoshi was in the process of rearranging the office to suit his taste and way of doing things. Like most of the Universe, his predecessor had been right handed, when he was left-handed, but there were other things that needed changing too.

He looked up as the doors opened and asked, "Can I help you?"

Siadra had taken a moment to look at the place, had a genuine smile. "Ah well, actually I came to meet you. I had heard through the grapevine that we now have a warden. I see that you are working on finding the Feng Shui of the place?" giving a nod towards the rearrangement of the furniture.

"Close, Kanso, the Japanese equivalent. It's rooted in Zen and simplicity."

"The grapevine, the fastest means of communication in Starfleet, is correct. I am the warden. Kiysohi Shingoen is my name. Who are you?"

"I am Siadra Molaur and also the Chief Science Officer. Welcome aboard." another look at what he'd done before, "Kanso, I will remember that. It does help to have a natural flow when it comes to living quarters as well as work area."

"Precisely. The concepts are very similar. Though if you were to ask my father, he would claim that the Japanese originated the idea and that our is superior."

"Thank you for the welcome. It is good to be here. How long have you been the Chief Science Officer?"

"I have been here maybe a year or less. Time seems to flow a bit differently when getting involved in a case. It can either seem that it gets done faster than another. Or it seems to take more time. The Artemis is my first ship assignment. Before this ship, I served on DS9, before then I was serving on Space Dock One." giving a bit of a smile. "I am curious, do you like tea?"

The Japanese man's left brow rose. "Of course, I do," he said with a slight bow. "Did you have something specific in mind, or were you just asking a general question?"

"It is a little bit of both. I tend to have conversations with my fellow crew members either over tea, or a meal in the mess hall or even over drinks in the Side Bar Lounge. I prefer teas but will have a drink from time to time. I had tea with Cassandra Frost, in one of the interrogation rooms. Just to meet her and get to know her just a little bit." Siadra smiling warmly.

"We have similar tastes I guess. I too will take a drink from time to time, but I prefer tea. Or water. I do have some green tea here if you would like."

"Green tea would be lovely, thank you. Mind if I take a seat as we converse?" having a look for a place to sit down. "Or for that matter perhaps I can help you finish moving your furnishings around." Siadra taking a look at the office once more.

"By all means take a seat," he said pointing to the only other currently empty chair. "I'll get some tea brewing. I hope you don't mind the real thing. I try to avoid the replicator stuff."

Gracefully sitting upon the chair, Siadra gave a chuckle. "Oh I prefer the real tea, I have my own selection of teas in my quarters. Replicator tea, I use only if it is an emergency, and I am nowhere near a teapot. Just the scent of the tea as it steeps, permeating the room, heavenly."

"I wholeheartedly agree on the odor. It truly is heavenly. "I chose to become a military policeman because it was the honorable thing to do and the next best thing to being a warrior," Kiyoshi said as he started prepping the tea. "Why did you decide to do what you're doing?"

"Before I was joined with Molaur, I was already interested in science, and was leaning towards the forensic side of science. Just the mere mystery of trying to figure out how something happened. And if there were some traces of the crime that had been committed. Then I was joined with Molaur, who liked the fact I was part of forensic science." Siadra leaned back, "I felt rather honored in being chosen."

Kiyoshi nodded as the woman spoke. "So tell me more about Molaur," he requested.

"Molaur is very particular as to who the hosts have been. He waited for slightly over a century before getting his first host. When I quizzed Molaur about that, the answer was, he wanted to start his experience being joined, to someone creative. Extremely fascinating. Such experiences he's had." Siadra smiled at the thought of the conversations she's had with Molaur.

"I've always wondered how the relationship between symbiont and host work."

"There is a benefit of having a symbiotic existence between the two species. And there is a ritual that takes place in the choice of who will be the host, to see if there is compatibility. In some aspect, you could consider the joining of the trill host and the Symbiote like a marriage, where the host now takes the name of the symbiont, hence my name is Siadra, and Molaur as the last name. Before I was joined Molaur, my family name was Kasim." Memories played through Siadra's mind as she thought back on her first meeting with Molaur. "It is definitely an eye-opening experience."

"I do know something about living in two worlds," he said, "though I have to admit I would have no idea how to live with someone else inside me."

"It was interesting with the joining, but we've been taught as soon as we were old enough to comprehend what it would be like. And what a privilege it was if one was chosen to be a host." Siadra had a quizzical expression when she heard the warden's comment as to knowing something about living in two worlds. Then again when you are on duty, you are in the professional world and when off duty, it is the personal life world. "Trying to live in two worlds, and trying to separate the professional world and personal world it can be difficult. Talk about working out a balance."

"That is certainly true," Kiyoshi responded. "I think that is something that all, well most anyway, Starfleet officers deal with, though that was not exactly what I meant."

"I don't discuss this with many people, but for years I felt trapped inside my own body. I wasn't born the way I am now. I was born female."

"And you went through a transformation to become who you are now. They say be true to yourself, and that is what you have done." Siadra giving an honest smile. "You are very fit. You take care of yourself, and it shows. I have known a few tailors and seamstresses who would have loved to outfit you with clothing befitting your physique." This wasn't Siadra throwing out a pick-up line, her opinion was true from the keen eye of someone who was a seamstress in a previous life.

The Asian man raised his left brow. "Thank you," he replied a smile lifting the corners of his lips. "I am flattered. I do try to keep myself in the best shape possible. You look quite fit as well."

"Do you meditate?" he asked with genuine curiosity.

"I do, I feel I need to do so, just to give myself and those here-" Siadra tapping her temple "A chance to reflect on matters, to have, dare I say the word, Quiet." the one thing Siadra has noticed it is never a good thing to say the 5 letter word when dealing with security.

"I agree," the Warden replied. "It keeps me centered.

"Could I get you anything else? Another cup of tea? Something else to drink? To eat?"

"I could have another cup of tea if it isn't getting in the way of you shifting your office around. That is something I do not wish to do is being in the way of a project being done.

"You're not getting in the way," Kiyoshi insisted. "I think I'd like another cup of tea as well. I am glad you stopped by."

"Then I have time for another cup of tea, and I am glad that I stopped by as well." Siadra giving a pleasant smile. She settled back down in her seat, finding that visit had certainly been enjoyable.

"One more tea coming up, " the Warden replied. "Someday I have to perform an actual tea ceremony."

"Tea Ceremonies are wonderful to attend. I had one with the XO, she is lovely." When the tea was brought over, Siadra accepted it with a smile. "Thank you."

"You are quite welcome. We will have to do this again sometime. I am planning to have weekly staff meetings. I haven't decided on the day or time yet, but when I do, I will let you know if you'd like to attend."

"I would like that very much." Siadra giving a smile. It was lovely meeting the warden. She settled for a moment, enjoying the peaceful nature of things here in the warden's. At times, one should enjoy the time when things are not going chaotic.

"I need to get ready for a much more unpleasant guest. One who won't be receiving tea or sympathy. You can stick around if you'd like."

"Who is this unpleasant guest?" Siadra was sorely tempted to stay around. "And would it be okay if I were here when this person is brought in? I would like to know, not just for me to satisfy my curiosity but to also make an account in my notes for my personal history."

"A certain Cardassian terrorist. I haven't met him, of course, but he has a rather nasty personality from what I've been told, and he has a dangerous, and I'm assuming, well-deserved reputation.

"Vamcet, I wouldn't mind seeing him. Just to look at him, glad that he has been captured." Siadra trying to make up her mind.

"That would be the one," Kiyoshi agreed. "I am keeping an eye on him and beefing up security. It only makes sense. Not only is he dangerous, he has some very loyal, devoted and I dare say crazy disciples

"Well, I don't know much about that, but I do remember meeting someone who was rather concerned about him. You know if it can be arranged, I would like to see him, just to maybe put my mind at ease that he's no longer out there. that he's been brought to justice. I don't know much about how that all came about. Only that a team went and retrieved him from a dangerous place."

"Oh my! That is right. I had scanned for some life signs there and had worked out possible ways for the runabout to get to that station, with engineering. I would like to look at him, don't know if I will have any questions, but just to see who the fuss was all about, would be good." Siadra stated firmly.

"I don't have the authority to stop you, not that I would. The more people we can have with eyes on him the better. I'll make the arrangements for you."

Siadra gave a nod, in agreement, "Thank you and I look forward to doing such."
