Mission: Episode 2 - The Sins of History
Location: Quarters of Johnathan Crowin - Deck 4 - USS Artemis
Timeline: MD007 1600 hrs

The away mission was done, as well as the after mission debrief. All Siadra could think of seeing Jonathan Corwin. She had gotten changed into some other civvies, a dark blue dress with a flowing skirt which swirled about her knees. Nervously she stopped at his door, licking her now dry lips.

Siadra, what is your hesitation? You are here just ring the chime and be done with it." Keema softly said.

"I-I don't know." Siadra uttered back. Her hand though reached out and pressed the chime, to let Jonathan know someone was there.

" Enter." The door swished open revealing a dimly lit room, the lone light above the dinning table illuminated only about a quarter of the room. Jonathan didn't even look up as he rubbed his temples and a half dozen PaDDs sat on the table in front of him. His eyes were glazed over and appeared to be tired.

"Jonathan, I am back" Siadra said softly, stepping inside and allowing the door to close behind her. "Are you okay?" moving further inside stepping into the small pool of light which was over his table.

Still rubbing his temples he spoke. " Just tired and I have a bit of a headache. " He finally opened his eyes and look up at her. " Siadra, what can I do for....." He stopped mid sentence and stared at her as if someone had just hit him over the head with a heavy object and appeared to be stunned for a moment. " Wow! " Was all he said after that.

Siadra felt heat in her cheeks, they were blossoming into a light pink blush feeling complimented at his reaction. Siadra was proud of the dress as she had made it. It was made of the softest cloth, and also durable. "How about taking a break from your notes and maybe get something to eat?"

Jonathan thought a moment. " I suppose I could take a break and get something to eat. " He organized his PaDDs into a stack and placed them on the nightstand next to the bed. " So would you like to go to the mess hall for food? Or just stay here and make something? He asked.

"Actually, I would much rather stay here and eat. I don't feel like going to the messhall right now. " Siadra giving a warm, pleading smile. "The away mission I had seen enough crowds at the moment."

" That's fine by me. " Stated Jonathan. " What do I have in my Cryo-pantry? " He mused as he looked over the selection. " What do you feel like? I've got some pasta's, Some Cod, Beef Steaks, Artichokes, Some red or white wine depending on what we decide to have. I've also got some clams that would go well with linguine in a clam sauce and marinated mushrooms. What sounds good to you? " He asked. " You know the last time I saw you in civvies was at that party we attended when we were in the academy together. It looks quite nice, I take it you felt like you wanted something a little different today? "

"yes I did, I wanted to not feel like I had been dressed in what would be termed mundane clothing in order to fit on a planet and not look like Star Fleet." Siadra spoke softly. " Your suggestion on a meal sounds lovely."

Jonathan smiled and nodded. " Linguine it is then. " He brought out a pot and filled it with water and got the linguine noodles ready for after the water started boiling. He also got a sauce pan and began making the sauce and added two tins of clams into the sauce base. " Computer, I need a bucket of ice replicated, enough to chill a bottle of wine. " He took the ice bucket and placed it on the counter and took a bottle of white wine from the pantry and placed it in the ice.

Jonathan got the water to boiling and salted the water before placing the noodles in the water as he continued to work on the sauce. " Jonathan smiled at Siadra. " Give me about fifteen to twenty minutes and we should be ready to eat. Could you get the plates and silverware set on the table please? " As he motioned over to the cupboard where they were kept.

Siadra nodded, "I can do that." she stated moving towards the cupboard and set the table. As she did so she watched Jonathan's movements, enjoying the sight.

Jonathan was busy stirring the sauce and added a bit of cream for a creamy texture. " You know I glad you dropped by, I didn't realize how hungry I was getting until I started prepping the food. My eyes were starting to hurt from reading over all this Bajorian law text. So how has your day been so far? " He asked with a curious tone to his voice.

"Oh, its been okay. I am back from an away mission and met with someone who is related to Vamcet the one we are after. And.... had to say farewell to two friends who had gotten injured during the away mission. Nothing major." her voice sounding a bit forlorn.

Jonathan looked up from the sauce that he was stirring in the pot. " Sounds like a rough day, If you want to talk about it, I've been told I'm a good listener. We've known each other long enough that you're almost family to me. Anytime you need to talk, you know where I'm at. " He got two high ball glasses from the replicator and got out a bottle from his personal locker and poured the amber liquid into the glasses. He returned to the sauce pan and checked the sauce. " Looks like it's about done. "

Jonathan drained the noodles and divided them into two large bowls and did the same with the sauce. He then returned to the replication. " Four slices of French garlic toast. " And brought it to the table. He walked around the table and pulled a chair out for Siadra and waited for her to take a seat.

Siadra sat down assisted by Jonathan, pushing her chair in, then once he sat down, she took in a deep breath, to catch the delicious aroma.

"This smells divine." she stated then took a bite of it."Oh it tastes just as good as it smells." another bite before Siadra spoke as to what was on her mind. "Jonathan, the away mission that we went on, we were looking for Vamcet, the Cardassian war criminal. And two of our people were severely injured." Siadra pausing to take drink of her wine.

Jonathan listened to Siedra's statement as she talked. His fork about halfway to his mouth got lowered back down to the plate. " First off, our people are expected to make a full recovery I hope. I know the capture of Vamcet is important, But so are the lives of our crew. I trust that they are in the care of our medical professionals at this time? " Jonathan picked up his wine glass and took a sip. " I am still very concerned about our crew members, But I have to know, Did we capture Vamcet or did he escape? ''

"Vamcet wasn't there, though the person I had followed and had a meal with, was either his son or someone very close to him. I planted a tracer on him. Lieutenant Blake has the tracker coordinates now and we're on our way to hopefully find Vamcet." Siadra placing her forkful of pasta into her mouth.

Jonathan let out a soft sigh. " So Vamcet continues to evade us does he? " He asked. " It will be good to get him captured so that we can get the trial going so we can either prove his innocence or guilt in the matter. Either way people need closure, I know there are a number of Bjorans who want to see this trial and see him pay. The Cardassians want to bring him home and execute him in accordance with their laws. Of course the cardassian high command would execute him for his perceived failure and bringing attention to them in general. "

"The person who I had spoken to, was concerned about Vamcet. Wanted him to stay hidden away. So I have no idea what is going on with that. It was the strangest thing though." Siadra replied. "Now though we do have the chance to find him." resuming to eat her meal. "This is really good!"

"That's good to hear that we have a solid lead to his possible location, but it sounds like we still have a lot of work to do before we can secure the package and bring him to trail, That and I'm glad you're enjoying the food. My cooking skills have improved over the last couple of years, out of necessity and not by choice." Stated Jonathan.

"Well, since this is my first time eating food that you've prepared, it is very tasty." Siadra taking a drink of her wine. "So compliments to the chef." raising her glass towards Jonathan as a toast.

Jonathan gave a warm smile. " Thank you. I'm glad your enjoying the food. A shared meal always tastes better when shared with pleasant company. You know Siadra, I was quite surprised when I found out that you were a member of this crew. I was just transferring to a new ship as the new kid in town and settle in and start the process all over again. " He raised his glass to her. " Thank you for being the friendly and familiar face was here to greet me. To good friends and reunions, I am truly glad to see you again. "

"I hadn't realized I'd run into and the same for.. Abe. Anyway, Let's finish dinner and perhaps watch a movie before I need to go back to my quarters. Hope you have popcorn." Siadra giving a chuckle. "And maybe dessert."

" For dessert, How does a banana split sound? " Jonathan asked. And as for the type of movie I'll let that be ladies choice for what to watch this evening. As for the popcorn, will a three liter bowl of fresh popped buttered popcorn with two chilled glasses of cola sound good to you? "

"A large bowl of popcorn sounds lovely, as the banana split, and the cola. My movie of choice would be the Mummy, with Brendan Fraser. If you don't mind" Siadra stated, as she moved to take a seat upon the sofa where a viewscreen can be seen.

Jonathan smiled. " So the ladies choice is a vintage and classic thriller. As you wish my lady. " He gave a polite chuckle. Which would you like to start with first? The popcorn or the banana split? The ice cream will melt if we let it set to long. " He turned towards the living room space. " Computer, display beginning of Brenden Fraser's movie The Mummy, and reduce lights fifty percent. " He looked in her direction. " We may begin whenever you'd like. "

"We can do a raincheck on the banana split, popcorn, a soda and an action romantic movie that will fit the bill." giving a laugh, Siadra settling down on the sofa patting the cushion next to her, ready to enjoy the movie.

Jonathan walked over to the replicator. " A six liter bowl of hot buttered popcorn, two one liter frosted mugs of cola and one hundred fifty grams of red licorice vines. " He retrieved the items and set them on the coffee table in front of the couch and sat next to Siadra. " Computer, begin movie. "

Siadra by this time had slipped her shoes off and curled up against Corwin ready to enjoy her time with him. Giving a sigh of contentment she cuddled up to Jonathan, for the moment she felt that this was a slice, a small smidgen of paradise.

Jonathan placed the popcorn bowl on his lap, where both could reach it easily. He felt Siedra snuggle up against him and put his arm around her shoulder. " It's been so long since I've seen this movie, it's almost like watching it for the first time again. " He took a small handful of popcorn kernels and began slowly eating them one at a time.

As the movie unfolded, Siadra would reach over and pick up a few kernels of popcorn as well. Soon she became rather engrossed in the movie, chuckling at the comedic moments, giving a start when the rather intense actions scenes came about as well. When she saw the scarabs come into play she buried her face in Jonathan's chest. She hated bugs that were deadly. "Let me know when that part is done." she pleaded, her voice muffled.

Jonathan was surprised for a moment and then he chuckled. " I forgot you don't like bugs. " He stroked her hair for a moment. " There, there. I promise I won't let any of those nasty bugs get to you." It took about half a minute before the scene was over. " It's ok Siadra, it's all over now. They're running for the exit. " He wrapped his arms around her and gave her a hug. It's ok Siadra, I'm here for you any time you need, alright? "

"O-Okay, thank you, Thank you for the lovely evening. And for being here with me watching this movie. Those bugs are just too much for me. I guess now." Siadra smiled as she turned back to watch the end of the movie. When the movie credits began to roll, Siadra caught sight of the time. "Oh my, the hour is late, and it is time for me to sleep." Siadra did look a little bit nervous, worrying her lower lip.

"I enjoyed myself as well Siadra, We'll have to do this again some time in the future. For the next movie I shall research it to make sure there's no insects in it. I'll walk you to your quarters as you still appear to be a bit shaken still. He smiled at her. "Besides, one doesn't find any insects aboard a starship, unless it's a science experiment and kept in a containment field." He laid a gentle hand on her shoulder. "The closest thing you're going to find to some scary critters on this ship will be the sharks in the courtroom strutting their stuff. " He said in an attempt to get het to laugh or smile at the very least. They reached her quarters. "This is where I bid you to sleep peacefully and pleasant dreams. Good night Siadra."

"Good night Jonathan. And thank you." a kiss upon his cheek and Siadra blushed, as she stepped inside her quarters. Once the doors closed behind her, Siadra could hear Keema, Jomad, and Aadru pipe up.

Awww our little girl is now growing up. Look at the bloom in her cheeks Keema the seamstress cooed.

That young man, well done with his romantic set up Jomad commented this hitting his movie making and romantic heart.

This is definitely a point of history that needs to be recorded. Was Aadru the historian's comment.

"That is enough out of all of you, I am going to go to sleep now." Siadra grumbled, "Goodnight." she cast one more look towards the closed door, on the other side was Jonathan. "Be safe going back to your quarters." she whispered before going to bed.

Jonathan was surprised with Siadra's reaction. A quick kiss on the cheek and then ducking back into her quarters before he could even say anything. He touched his cheek where she had kissed him and turned away smiling as he returned back to his quarters and slept soundly through the night.
